Support the Head of Operational Risk in implementing and embedding the Operational Risk Management framework, tools, methodologies, and governance processes to create lasting solutions for minimizing losses from failed internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
Provide support to the business on RCSAs.
Independently assess process and control design, risks and drive actions to address the root causes that persistently lead to operational risk losses by challenging both historical and proposed practices.
Drive the identification of control improvement opportunities within the business and work with the business to deliver changes as needed.
Guide the business on executing Root Cause Analyses and identifying Action Plans for the elimination of Root Causes to solve various Business and Process issues.
Advising the business on target state optimized processes and controls opportunities, identified policy and procedure gaps and implementation options for the future state.
Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding the Business, its clients and assets.
Support the operational risk events process to ensure that incidents are identified and remediated promptly, and that root-cause analysis and remedial actions are sufficient to prevent recurrence.
Develop close relationships across the business and become a trusted advisor to the business for all operational risk matters.
Provide high level risk analysis to support and inform the risk governance structure.
Produce relevant MI from across the business, establishing key metrics on RCSAs, Conduct Risk, Loss event data and incident management.
Support the facilitation of Top Risk reviews and Stress/Scenario testing to install a robust risk framework.
Work closely with project teams to support the firm wide and new business initiatives / projects risk assessment, reporting, and management until delivery.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience in internal audit, Risk, or Operational Risk Management within Financial services.
Curious nature, with a desire to fully understand how things work.
Professionally sceptical, with the ability to question and challenge the business.
Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills for all levels of staff and ability to influence senior management.
Ability to understand the broader business, its needs, challenges, and priorities.
Organised and methodological approach.
Able to quickly grasp new concepts and work with minimal supervision.
A proactive approach to delivering strong risk management.
Strong presentation and communication skills.
