THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support Compliance in the maintenance of a current and accurate Regulatory Library. Advise management and the Compliance Committee when there are changes to the regulatory environment which may impact or change the businesses and / or the Enterprise’s regulatory risk profile.
Responsible for the design and execution of 1LOD Monitoring & Testing (M&T) to assess the effectiveness of the regulatory compliance risk controls and mitigants in place.
Accountable for the documentation and execution of the 1LOD M&T process and recording the results and outcomes of that process on a daily, weekly, monthly, annually or as deemed to be appropriate under agreed M&T plans.
Upon the identification of a compliance issue during either RCRA or M&T activities, the BUCO is responsible for Compliance Issue Management (CIM) through documenting the precise details of the issue and ensuring that management is advised of the issue.
Following issue identification by the BUCO, the severity is assessed and recorded.
Collaboration with the relevant LOB or corporate area to develop remediation plan for identified issues. This may also include input from Compliance.
Track issue resolution progress and report to senior management, including advising on the closure of compliance action plans
Ensure that all CIM activities are recorded.
Preventing loss due to failure in process, people or systems by managing and remediating loss events, identifying when loss is likely to occur and preventing it.
Ensuring that Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) accurately reflect the level of risk; conducting the annual risk and control self-assessments and associated activities in support of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF).
As a First Line role, represent Capital Markets on matters related to CM Business in BME as appropriate.
Documenting new or existing processes through process mapping, institute process improvement and ensure effective controls are in place through control testing, investigate opportunities for increasing efficiencies.
Understanding sources of data generated and the data that is used by Capital Markets, including transaction, market, economic data, etc. Analysing, synthesizing and using this Capital Markets data in order to understand business or regulatory problems and response to ad hoc risk assessment requests.
Methodically solving problems across a continuum that ranges from simple day-to-day issues to highly complex business, technical or regulatory issues.
Writing business communications that clearly and appropriately convey the target message.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Proven knowledge of regulatory, compliance and control environments applicable to the activities undertaken by Global Markets and to manage and mitigate both regulatory compliance and operational risk issues.
Experience in financial products and markets (e.g. Fixed Income, FX, Equity, Commodities etc. and associated derivative products as well as knowledge of different types of trading venues including MTF’s and OTF’s).
Experience in use of or governance of electronic trading platforms and Algorithms as well as relevant regulations (e.g. MiFID II) and associated controls.
Solid understanding of the upstream and downstream systems, and corporate support areas (e.g. pre-trade checks, execution of a trade, settlements etc.).
