Our client is a global independent bank with London offices based in the West End
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Analyse transactions/counter-parties described in applications submitted by all areas of the bank in order to identify and mitigate risks.
Relationship management of allocated criticised assets including liaising with borrowers, agents, syndicate members and external accountancy and law firms in order to recommend appropriate action to Head of Risk
Management and preserve/realise value and to formulate appropriate third-party mandates for investigative action.
Monthly and quarterly reporting of impaired credits.
Attendance of monthly residential mortgage arrears meetings.
To pass on the benefit of experience to lending areas where appropriate in order to improve the quality of transactions and submissions including training/coaching where appropriate.
Act as Level 1 authorised credit signature.
Perform the role of Secretary to the Risk Committee.
Provide the Head of Risk Management and Risk Committee with advice on all credit related matters, including transactions above signature level.
Assist in the development of the credit risk guidelines and process.
Ensure that all transactions are compliant with policy and procedures.
Familiarity with credit rating systems, portfolio analysis tools and risk/return methodology.
Deputise for the Head of Risk Management in the management and operation of the Risk Management function during periods of absence.
Undertake ad-hoc projects/assignments as required.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience gained in a credit risk environment
Proven commitment to continued professional development
The ability to understand and learn the formal & informal power relationships in the Bank and in other organizations (customers, suppliers, etc.). At higher levels, it involves improving the impact of managerial action on the Bank/ Group.
The ability to work co-operatively with others, to be part of a team and achieve mutual targets
